Kokopelli is a humpbacked flute player and travelling storyteller who dates back 3,000 years. Regarded as a sacred figure by many southwestern Native Americans, images have been found on numerous petroglyphs. Legends include bringing the transition of winter to spring, rain for a successful harvest and fertility connections. Sue, who discovered him in Arizona and collects items featuring him, says: ‘He’s a whimsical character, joyful and inspiring. We’re both storytellers, but he’s the musical one!’ |
